Week 11: Portraits

A Friend of mine. I asked him to pose, the white background wasn't the best but there wasn't another color wall. I guess the tricky part for me was how much of his torso I was going to include when taking the picture. I knew I wanted a head shot, but determining how much body was difficult. let me know what you think.
I had a lot of fun with this one. It was hard to get a good background, but this one is interesting enough; I just hope it doesn't take the focus away from the subject.

  1. I think the top photo has a good balance with the cropping. I always have a hard time with cropping and like to preview things a couple of times.

The second photo is a bit wacky and fun. The background is busy but it works.

  2. The one thing I've found in taking photos of costumes and the like in crowds is that if you want to catch that perfect photo you need to take your model to a decent background. Even as much as asking them to move a few feet against a wall so that you can get the other people out of the shot helps a lot.
