Final Project: Photo Story

Photo 1:

I cropped this picture in and strengthened the saturation so the colors would stand out more.

Photo 2:

I used two filters on this picture. I used the magic wand to select the flag and I used the ripple filter, then the shift filter. Next I used the magic wand again to select the area surrounding the flag and darkened through light and contrast. Finally I inverted the selection so I had the flag and I increased the saturation.

Photo 3:

I cropped this picture down and used a filter to sharpen. I increased the brightness and saturation and decreasing the light and contrast.

Photo 4:

I used the clone tool to erase a person’s foot behind the subject.

Photo 5:

I increased the saturation and created another bar so it looks like a frame. I selected the bar on the left with the magic wand, copy, past, then moved it over and fixed the transparency. Finally I decreased the brightness in the right bar so it appeared set apart from the background.

Photo 6:

This picture I altered using the Iwrap filter. I made the swirls by holding the mouse down and crossing it over the picture.

Photo 7:

I selected the flag, pole and green tent, inverted the selection then used the wave filter. I also increased the saturation.

Photo 8:

I used the clone tool as well as the magic wand to select different parts of the photo. I used the blur and smudge tool to distort the people’s faces behind me as well as altered their clothing so the picture would demonstrate complementary color scheme.

Photo 9:

I cut and past the dragon boat and dragon head. Then I used a lot of cloning because I only had a small part of the boat. So I created the rest of the boat so it would reach across the picture.

Photo 10:

This picture represents a complementary color scheme. I used cloning to eliminate a trashcan on the grass and increased the saturation and contrast while decreasing the brightness and light.

Photo 11:

I selected the two flags from two other pictures and then copied them in using different layers. I increased the saturation to bring out of the color of the sky and flags. This photo displays the rule of thirds.

Photo 12:

I cut and past the dragon boat and head from photo 9 and pasted it onto the picture. Then I increased the saturation.

Week 11: Portraits

A Friend of mine. I asked him to pose, the white background wasn't the best but there wasn't another color wall. I guess the tricky part for me was how much of his torso I was going to include when taking the picture. I knew I wanted a head shot, but determining how much body was difficult. let me know what you think.
I had a lot of fun with this one. It was hard to get a good background, but this one is interesting enough; I just hope it doesn't take the focus away from the subject.

Week 9: Dodge, Burn and Filters

This picture I altered by filtering it as well as saturating and dodging it.
The picture above I used burn to darken the sky to bring out the clouds. I also saturated it and put more blue. I filtered everything but the dome.
For this picture I filtered the background using wave.
Below are the originals.

I edited the photo above: I brightened it as well as used saturation to bring more color in. I also brought the contrast up.
This is the original photo.
I changed the background to a grey scale and then altered the color of the daisy. It reminds me of the flowers in the movie Avatar when the everything glows in the dark.
This is the original photo of the daisy.

I used Gimp to alter these photos. The photo above I cropped and changed the contrast and brightness. The photo below I took four photos I had taken and layered them on top of each other.

For this last photo I took out the telephone wire and enhanced the background using Gimp.
