I took this photo in the morning when the sun was shining. These next two where taken at noon right after it had rained. I did end up using flash for the close-up below. This last picture was taken at dusk.
I really like this photo assignment and the subject that you chose to photograph. It is really neat to see how the different light can effect the subject. I think that the composition is strong and these are also interesting because of the placement of the main figure. Also the contrast of the black stone wall and the white statue leads to an eye popping piece. Great job and I can't wait to see more.
This is the beauty of light and how we perceive things. By understanding the way light effects the things we look at we can then begin to manipulate the way something can be looked and interpreted.
This knowledge also gives us the chance to start taking photos rather than snapshots. Photography is an art and in order to make really good art, you must understand the tools, one of which is light. Snapshots are when you just happen to have a camera in hand and you take the picture at random times. A photograph is when you take the time to plan your shot or take the time to move around your subject and find interesting features to exploit.
Ooooo the dusk picture is gorgeous! I love the contrast between the dark background and the light sculpture :)
ReplyDeleteThis was by far...my favorite assignment so far. I love the difference in how the same picture feels just when the light differs! Great job!
